Overview Members of the TTX74x TV Data Receiver Family are external PC peripheral data communications receivers for TV data broadcast applications. Information is inserted into any standard TV signal and delivered to the serial COM port of a PC as RS232 data. The TTX74X family combines reliable, high-speed TV data delivery capability with the low cost and added convenience of an external PC communications peripheral.

Essentially modems for point-to-multipoint data communications, the TTX74X family provides complete reception, decoding and Forward Error Correction (FEC) of the TV data at speeds up to 115.2 Kbps. The TTX74X with its built in Intel processor and receive software enables reception and decoding of either NABTS or WST data. The TTX74X has a built-in VHF/UHF/Cable TV tuner and can be software configured to accept either an RF or baseband video input.
 
Features The features:

NABTS Standard: Compliant with the open EIA516 (NABTS) and CCIR 653 System C standards for TV data broadcast over the VBI. It will receive and decode standard NABTS data inserted in the TV signal by a Norpak TV Data Encoder or any other NABTS compliant encoder/ insertion device.
WST Standard: The TTX744 version is compatible with the WST IDLA (ETS 300 708) standard for data broadcast.
High Speed: The TTX74x TV Data Receiver is capable of receiving and decoding data at speeds up to 115,200 bps.
Built-in Processor: The TTX74x internal microprocessor selects and processes authorized incoming data and performs sophisticated Forward Error Correction (FEC) to eliminate loading on the PC, ensure data integrity, and improve overall performance.
Multiple Data Modes: The TTX74x family has multiple high-speed data modes for maximum flexibility: 8-bit "Packet" FEC, 8-bit "Bundle" FEC, 30-byte "Transparent" - user controlled.
NABTS & FEC: 7-bit Basic NABTS, 7-bit Basic NABTS with FEC.
WST & FEC: 8-Bit "Packet" FEC, 8-Bit "Bundle" FEC, 7 & 8-Bit "Transparent" Mode
Software Configurable: Receiver software is able to fully configure the receiver. Configuration parameters are stored in non-volatile memory.
